Son of John Douglas & Mary E (nee Pearson) Allan of 29 Flood Street, Bondi, NSW. He enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force on 30 August 1915 and embarked from Sydney for active service abroad on 11 March 1916 per HMAT "Orsova" (A67). He was killed in action Fleurbaix, aged 23 years.
