Son of Francis George and Sarah Helen Shepherd. Husband of Florence Rosa Shepherd of 7 Boreham Street, Cottesloe, Western Australia. He embarked from Adelaide for Suez on 18 November 1915 aboard HMAT "Geelong" (A2). His Battalion relocated to the Western Front, France during June 1916. He was reported missing in action on 19 July 1916 during the Battle of Fromelles. Subsequently he was determined to have been killed in action on that date. He was aged 41 years.
