Ralph G Covert was a World War I Era casualty on October 12, 1918. He had enlisted in the United States Army in 1917 and served with honor as a Sergeant in the 5th Division, 61st Infantry Regiment. His MOS was 000-Medical Staff Officer of the MOS Group Infantry but was previously MOS 803-Bugler. His commendations are the World War I Victory Medal and a Purple Heart.

He had served during the Meuse-Argonne offensive of 26 September to 11 November 1918. During his service in World War I, Army Sergeant Covert developed an illness or serious health threat which ultimately resulted in loss of life on October 12, 1918. Recorded circumstances attributed to: Died of Disease although another source lists KIA-Died of Wounds. Sgt.
