Albert T Vanderwaal, son of Nettie A and Aart Vanderwaal, was killed in action by machine gun fire, Nov 1, 1918, at Waergeem, Belgium. He was first class Private with Co A 348th Machine Gun Battalion. He entered the service from Sioux County ND, May 24th, 1918. He was engaged in farming until he entered the service. He was buried at Grave No 160, Plot C American Military Cemetery No 1252, Waerghem, West Flanders.
