Dawson son of Thomas and Elizabeth (Wiedrick) Abbott of Port Dover, Norfolk County. Brother to Catherine, George, William.
In 1915 Dawson married and had a little girl.
Enlisted Dawson and Will in Brantford, Brant County on October 9, 1915 in the 32nd Battalion, both went overseas with the 125th Battalion.
Dawson with the Fourth Machine Gun Battery in France. War ended with the Armistice on November 11, 1918. Survived two years of fighting, no wounds, died of Spanish Infulenza, eight days after the war.
Commemorated on Page 357 of the First World War Book of Remembrance.
