Richards paternal grandparents Richard 79 and Margaret 66 live with them also.In the 1905 New Jersey state census 11-year-old Richard is living with his parents and siblings Anna 14, Helen 9, Margaret 6, and Charles Jr 3, at 182 Inwood in Montclair. The 1920 Princeton University Yearbook lists Richard W P Rose among other Princeton students who made the ultimate sacrifice in the Great War.Newspapers of the day and Soldiers of the Great War, Volume 1, District of Columbia, list Corporals: Rose, Richard W., as Died of Wounds in Paris 24 Jun 1918. The Battle of Belleau Wood had been going on since the beginning of June with the 5th Marine Regiment attached to the 2nd Division so he must have been mortally wounded at Belleau.
