Lucas S. Freeland was born in Maury Co.,Tennessee to James and Mary Freeland and died in Hubbard, Texas. After coming to Texas, he and his wife Geneva Parks bought a farm near Hubbard where they raised their family. Their children were Will, Tom, Etta, Jeff, Ella and George. Lucus lived on the farm until 1919 when he became ill. Leaving the rest of his family on the farm, and for his convenience he moved into his son Tom's home in Hubbard where he died in 1921.
