George Wallace Gantz was the son of Joseph and Eliza (Greer) Gantz. He married Orletta Sophia Jarvis on November 28, 1900, and together they had 9 children: Fanny, Ruby, Claude, Clyde, Lucille, Joseph, Ella, Robert, and a stillborn baby girl. After Orletta passed away, Wallie remarried to Sarah Anna Smith. They had one son, Alfred. They divorced 8 months after the birth of their son. Sadly, he committed suicide at the age of 47.
