James L. Murphy was owner and manager of Tripco Travel Services Inc., of Burlington and East Troy. He was also president of Sea Ventures Limited Inc., a travel agency opened in 1987 in Racine. In 1984, Murphy was chosen "Employer of the Year" by Burlington Business and Professional Women. His father, Lawrence, and uncle James H. Murphy opened the livestock and poultry feed company in 1927. James L. Murphy was a graduate of St. Mary's Grade School, Burlington High School and the University of Wisconsin--Madison.
He was survived by his mother, Evelyn Weyrough Murphy of Burlington: a brother and two sisters.
