Mildred Harrison Weds George Gillaspy On Grandfather's 81st Birthday
Yesterday afternoon at 1 o'clock Miss Mildred Harrison, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Harrison of Dalton Gardens, became the bride of Mr. George Gillaspy of this city, son of Mrs. Eithel Gillaspy of Manchester, Okla. The date was also the 81st birthday of the bride's grandfather, Mr. William Z. Harvey, also of Dalton.
The ceremony was performed at the family home of the Rev. Jacob Wiens of the Church of God with about 45 friends and relatives attending. The bride wore a pink taffeta gown and a corsage of pink sweetpeas and carnations. She was attended by Miss [living] Gillaspy, sister of the bridegroom. The bride's brother, Mr. Cecil Harrison, was the best man.
A buffet luncheon was served following the ceremony and the couple left on a short wedding trip. They will make their home temporarily in Coeur d'Alene. He is employed with a construction company at Kettle Falls, Wash.

Departed on Jul. 31, 2003 and resided in Post Falls, ID.
Memorial Service: Monday, Aug. 4, 2003
Mildred Gillaspy, age 81, of Post Falls, passed away Thursday, July 31, 2003 at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane. She was born June 27, 1922 in Mead, WA to William and Susan (Harvey) Harrison. She graduated from Harrison High School in 1939. She married George Gillaspy, her husband of 54 years, in March of 1941. Mildred worked as a checker at both Albertson's and Safeway. She also worked in the meat department until arthritis forced her to retire. She was an avid bingo player and played at least twice a week. She also enjoyed bowling, fishing, gardening, and raising her three sons.
They are survived by sons and daughters-in-law [living] and their sons [living] and their children [living]; and [living] and their son [living].
A memorial service will be held Monday, August 4, 2003 at 2:00 PM at Yates Funeral Home, Coeur d'Alene Chapel who is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked that memorial contributions be made to The American Heart Association, 270 S. Orchard, Suite B, Boise, ID 83705.
