Musician. He gained celebrity status as the co-lead guitarist and songwriter for the popular British rock band, Def Leppard. In January of 1978, he joined Def Leppard and was a constant mainstay until his death. Nicknamed "The Riffmaster", he contributed to the band's music and lyrics. He was a major factor on the group's most successful albums such as "Pyromania" in 1983, "Hysteria" in 1987 and "Adrenalize" in 1992. In 2019, he was posthumously inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Def Leppard.
