Anthony, who resided at 103 Cedar Street, Wilmington, Delaware, served as a Seaman First Class with the U.S.S. Hancock (CV-19), U.S. Navy during World War II.

He was "Killed In The Line Of Duty" during an airplane crash on the Hancock.

He had served in the Navy for two years and eight months at the time of his death.
