He is survived by his wife Ruth Nicholson and one daughter Frances Hueske of Houston and three grandchildren, Donald Hueske of Houston, TX, Neal Hueske of Bend, OR, and Kirby Hueske Tyndall of Austin, TX.


Funeral services for Taylor Addison Nicholson, 68, of 1058 N, Van Buren, a resident of San Angelo since 1951 when he went to work for Department of Public Safety. were held Tuesday at Angelo Heights Methodist Church with the Rev. M. D. Lowry officiating. Burial was in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens directed by Johnson's Funeral Home. Mr. Nicholson died at 3:25 a.m. Monday at St. John's Hospital. He was born Nov. 6, 1894 at Midway. He and the former Miss Ruth Kirby were married Dec. 24, 1942. He was in law enforcement work about 31 years, serving as deputy sheriff and then sheriff of Tyler County until 1941, then as a license and weight patrolman since 1951. Mr. Nicholson worked for the Railroad Commission from 1941 to 1951 in Beaumont. While with DPS, he was awarded one of seven Texas Safety Association awards for "performance of duty above the normal demands," for aiding in the capture of armed robbers on two separate 0ccasions. Mr. Nicholson was instrumental in trapping a trio wanted for a $7,800 robbery of First National Bank of Sterling City May 2, 1956. On Jan. 13, 1956, he helped capture two Negro men sought in connection with robbing a Brady food store of $345. Mr. Nicholson was a member of the Angelo Heights Methodist Church. He was a Mason and member of Elks Lodge. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Don Hueske of Harlingen; two sons, Marvin and J. C. Nicholson, both of Woodville, and three grandchildren. Pallbearers, all DPS employes, will be Capt. C. W. Bell, Sgt. Earl Haddock, Patrolmen Curtis Pruitt and Burt Cornelius, all of Mid land, Patrolman E. G. Allen of Sweetwater and Winford Kelley of San Angelo.
