An addition to the previous post. Ottumwa had a Christmas stocking program
beginning in about 1930 where money was raised to provide Christmas stockings
to needy children. Beginning in 1931 there was money donated to the program
"in memory of Valera Conger". So, that would indicate that she died before
1930.
