Erdeal was born, in Marion, Alabama, to Cecil Herbert and Mittie Adaline Michell Aultman. She has a sister, Rubie Aultman Smith who lives in Pennsylvania. She married her best friend and the love of her life,DC Moore, on September 3, 1953. She graduated with a Master's Degree from the Universiy of Alabama in Library Science. She worked as a Librarian at Lister Hill Medical Library at UAB for 26 years. DC and Erdeal shared a love of all things Crimson, Big Al and Roll Tide. Loyal fans and supporters of the University of Alabama; D.C. has established an alumni scholarship at the university in her honor. Besides Alabama football she loved to collect clowns of all shapes and sizes which brought smiles and joy to young and old. She was a member of Rocky Ridge Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
