John Michael "Mike" Mahon, 60, of Loogootee, died at 4:27 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2010, in his home.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in St. Peter, with the Rev. William Emrick officiating. Burial will be in Stein-Stine Cemetery in St. James. Visitation will be held from noon-3 p.m. on Saturday at the church. Pagel Funeral Home in St. Peter was in charge of arrangements. Memorials: American Heart Association.
Mr. Mahon was born on Jan. 31, 1950, in Fayette County, the son of John W. "Bill" and Clida M. Sperry Mahon.
He was a mechanic and owner of the IH dealership, and later, Mike's Repair in St. Peter. He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in St. Peter. He enjoyed family, hunting, fishing and casino boat trips, and was a hard worker.
He is survived by sons, Chad Mahon and his wife Amanda of Farina, and B.J. Mahon of St. Elmo; daughter, Melissa Bell of Altamont; stepmother, Norma J. Mahon of Brownstown; brothers, Gary, Scott and Todd Mahon, all of St. Elmo; stepsisters, Stacey Worman and her husband Frank of Dieterich, and Patty and her husband Roger Martin of Ramsey; grandchildren, Destony and Micah Bell of Altamont, and Blaine and Brody Mahon of St. Elmo; and stepgrandson, Austin Myers of Farina.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Brady, in infancy; and life companion, Debra Tish.
