OGLESBY -- Ruth Alice Oglesby of 1949 East 28th Street, Eugene died December31, at the age of 80. She was born June 1, 1896 in Bryant, South Dakota, daughter of John C. & Edith Wells. She had lived in Oregon 73 years and in Eugene since 1937. She was married in Salem, Oregon December 2, 1916 to William W. Oglesby who died in 1955. She worked for several years as bookkeeper at State Institutions in the Salemarea. She ws employed at Chase Gardens, Eugene for a number of years and later as cashier at the Eugene Hospital and Clinic until her retirement. She was a 51 year member, Order of the Eastern Star, Past Matron Victoria Chapter, Turner, member of Blue River Chapter, Eugene. She is survived by one son, A. J. Oglesby of Brooks; one daughter, Edith Maddron of Eugene; 3 sisters: Grace Hill, Lois Sawyer and Margaret Spores all of the Salem area; one aunt, Edna Schlender of Corvallis; 5 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; several nephews and nieces and great nephews and nieces. Services will be held Tuesday, January 4, 1977 at 2 p.m. in BUELL CHAPEL, Pastor Charles Willming of Westminster Presbyterian Church officiating. Ritualistic services by Victoria Chapter Number 76 O.E.S. Interment in Rest Haven Memorial Park.
