Services for Mabel Florence Lindsey Pennington, 95, of Tyler, will be held on Saturday, August 7, 2010, at 10 a.m. at Stewart Family Funeral Home with Bishop Brad Hyland officiating.
Burial will follow at Memory Park Cemetery in Longview, Texas under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home. Mrs. Pennington passed away Sunday, August 1, 2010 at Hospice of East Texas in Tyler.
She was born March 6, 1915 in Upshur County, Texas to Robert Lee and Mattie Oce Carlee Slater Lindsey. Mrs. Pennington was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Smith Pennington.
Mabel is survived by her loving family including sons, Charles Pennington and wife Mary Jo of Hurricane, Utah, and R. B. Pennington and wife Lena of Aubrey; daughters, Louise Freeman and husband Lloyd of Raleigh, NC., Elaine Gauntt and husband Jim of Austin, and Judy Rehkop of Tyler; sister, Mary Hardy of Henderson; 28 grandchildren, 74 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Byron Rehkop, Bradley Rehkop, Slade Gauntt, Danny Gauntt, Doug Freeman, Roy Pennington, Barry Pennington and Jon Pennington.
Visitation is scheduled from 6 – 8 p.m on Friday, August 6, 2010 at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Hwy., Tyler, Texas 75703.
