Pastor's Wife Expires After Brief Illness
Mrs. Savilla Bittner, age 50, wife of Rev. Melvin S. Bittner pastor of the Otterbein Evangelical
United Brethren church of Juniata, died at 10.20 o'clock last night after a brief illness at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Idabelle Kuhn of 604 Third street, Juniata.

She was born near Garrett, Somerset county, July 13, 1897, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Romesburg, and was united in marriage with Rev. Bittner July 28, 1918.

Her brief illness and passing was a shock to the congregation and community. She was an active
member and worker in the church and Sunday school and taught the Companionship class and was also a member of the Women's Missionary society. Her passing; will be sincerely mourned by the congregation. She was friendly, helpful and a devoted Christian with the love and the will of the Lord first in her heart and mind. She loved her work and gave it her best.

Surviving are her mother, Mrs Romesburg of Baltimore, Md., her husband, Rev. Melvin S. Bittner, six children, Mrs. Emanuel Butler of Altoona, Mrs. Idabelle Kuhn of Juniata, Vivian and Melvin, jr., at home, Rev. Madison R. Bittner of Philadelphia and Groff, a student at Otterbein college. One child Melvina, died in infancy. Also surviving are five grandchildren, and the following brothers and sisters: Leonard and Samuel Romesburg of Rockwood Pa, Mrs. Olivet Mull of Terra Alta, W. Va., Mrs. June Pritz and Jule Romesburg of Garrett Pa., Mrs. Laura Barefoot of Ebensburg and Mrs. Ruth Myers and Miss Esther Romesburg of Baltimore, Md.

Friends will be received at the Korns funeral home, Juniata, after 7 o'clock this evening
