MISS HELEN BIDDLE GANS, daughter of MRS. DAVID SHERMAN GANS, of Uniontown, and "Hillbrook," Langhorne and MR. LAURENCE HOWARD ELDREDGE, son of MR. & MRS. IRVIN H. ELDREDGE of Cape May (New Jersey), were married at the Holy Trinity Church, Philadelphia, on Thursday, September 30, at 10 A. M. Rev. Dr. Floyd W. Tompkins performed the ceremony.
The bride was attended by her sister, MISS HARRIET NEFF GANS. T. MILLET HAND was the best man.
The bride was most attractively attired in an ensemble suit of crushed mulberry, and wore a corsage of orchids and lillies of the valley. Her sister was gowned in brown charmeen, and wore a coat of plucked otter, trimmed with red fox. Her flowers were orchids and yellow rosebuds.
The ceremony was followed by a wedding breakfast at the Ritz-Carlton. Among the guests at the breakfast were MISS ESTER ELDREDGE, sister of the groom, and MR. VICTOR HENDERSON, of Philadelphia.
The couple went from Ritz-Carlton to Broad Street Station, where they left for Woonsocket, R. I. After November 1, they will reside at No. 8 Lantern Lane, Phila.
MRS. ELDREDGE is a descendant of JAMES RENSHAW, first Colonial Governor of Baltimore, and of DR. GEORGE W. NEFF, one of the founders of Jefferson Medical College. She attended Miss Cowle's School, Oak Lane, and finished at Miss Hareums School, Bryn Mawr, afterward continuing her study of music in New York, Paris and Florence.
MR. ELDREDGE is a member of one of the oldest families in New Jersey and direct descended from the Mayflower. He graduated from Lafayette College in 1924 with high scholastic honors. He was Editor-in-Chief of the Year Book, Managing Editor of the "Lafayette," President of the Trophy Club, member of the Student Council, Knight of the Round Table, and was identified with many other activities. He is now a senior in the Law School of the University of Pennsylvania, where he is the President of the Kent Law Club, and Inter-Club Arguments Champion. He is a member of Delta Upsilon, Phi Beta Kappa, Delta Theta Phi, and Pi Delta Epsilon fraternities.
MR. ELDREDGE will continue his work at the Law School, and his magazine and feature syndicate writing.
