Gainesville - Funeral services will be held at 2:30 today (March 5) at Gainesville Mill Methodist Church for Frank Herbert Abernathy, 334 Comer Street.

The Rev. Truman Thomas, Marshall Dale, Opal Brewer, and Telford Tankersley will officiate and interment will be in Redwine Methodist Church Cemetery. The body will be at the residence.

Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Effie Mae Crumley Abernathy; four daughters, Mrs. James McKinsey, Flower Branch route 1; Mrs. F.J. Grizzle, Gainesville; Mrs. William E. Cash, Gainesville, and Miss Patricia Ann Abernathy, Gainesville; four sons, Seaman Larry Douglas Abernathy, Little Creek, VA; Charles M. Abernathy and Willard K. Abernathy both of Gainesville; Herbert Abernathy, Jacksonville, Fla.; a brother, Oscar G. Abernathy, Gainesville; and eight grandchildren.

Ward's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
