Minos served as a Private, Company E, 1st Delaware Infantry during the Civil War.

He enlisted in the 1st Delaware on October 11, 1861 for a 3 year term. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being 24 years old, a Farmer, and residing in Sussex County.

Minos was "Killed In Action" in the Battle of Antietam during the war.
