Jean H. Marshall was the daughter of Mr. William Marshall and Jean/Jane Hamilton. She married a family friend from Scotland, Mr. James Wotherspoon in September 11, 1818 in Westfield, New Jersey. They had 12 children together, all of them became very successful in their various careers. Their son Alexander Wotherspoon was the physican to President Zachary Taylor and was his attending doctor at the time of his death. William Wallace Wotherspoon was an accomplished artist and his paintings still hang in noted museums. Their daughter Rowena Wotherspoon married Charles F. Blauvelt who was an accomplished artist in his own right. Jane was known for her stubborn and determined character. In 1864 her beloved husband died and Jane lived comfortably with her daughter and granddaughter until her death in 1882.
