Charles was the sixth generation direct descendant of Joseph Loomis who came from Braintree, Essex, England in 1638. Charles married Laura Silver August 14,1823. They had 10 children: Horace, Roxena, George, Julia Ann, Sally, Charles Marvin, Hannah Emily, Albert, Henry Albert, and Arvilla. He was a farmer. He left a will dated February 26, 1877 in Conneaut, Ohio.
