Illinois National Guardsman called to federal service as a member of B Company, 192nd Tank Battalion. He was transferred to Hq Company at Ft. Knox. Became a Japanese Prisoner of War when Bataan was surrendered to the Japanese and took part in the death march. He was held as a POW at Camp O'Donnell and Cabanatuan. He died of dysentery while a POW.
