Again death has invaded the ranks of the Jenkins, Carter and Archibald family and taken away a beautiful son, a loving brother, an adored nephew, kind uncle, wonderful grandson, caring cousin and loyal friend. The serviceable mortal life of Eric Lamont Jenkins was born into time on October 4, 1971, in St. Joseph, Michigan to Annalisa Jenkins-Ford and Robert Carter Jr. Eric who was affectionately called "Peanut" by his family and friends was formally educated in the Benton Harbor Area Schools and was a proud graduate of the Benton Harbor High School Class of 1990. Today, July 23, 2010, he would have celebrated his 20th Year Class Reunion with his classmates. Upon moving to Kalamazoo, Peanut became employed by Lawn Care and also successfully mastered the skill of being a barber. To know Peanut was to love him. He will always be remembered for his signature smile, quiet demeanor, kindness, and he was also very loving, caring and respectful. He loved spending time with his family and he will also be remembered by his sisters and brothers as "THE WORLD'S BEST BIG BROTHER". In life you have pleasures with your loved ones, you have sorrows and joys, but thank God for the memories that death cannot destroy. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Roosevelt and Dora Jenkins; one uncle, Larry Carter Sr.; one aunt, Diane Carter and great-grandmother, Maggie Ricks. Peanut will be sadly missed by his loving mother, Annalisa; his father, Robert (Priscilla) Carter Jr.; three sisters: Dora (Taryll) Jones of Benton Harbor, Shantone Davis of Kalamazoo and Ashley Carter of Atlanta, GA; three brothers: Gregary, Mark and Marcus Ford all of Kalamazoo; his stepfather, Gregary Ford; maternal grandmother, Vera Anderson; paternal grandmother, Verbina Carter; paternal grandfather, Robert Carter Sr. of Syracuse, NY; a dear and special friend, Lisa Price; two best friends, Michael Williams and Jason McGee; uncles: Edward, Michael, William, Steve, Leandre, David, Roy, Houston, and Ernest; aunts: Clarice, Ramona, Lynn, Rosemary, and Rosalee; Godmother, Faye Jenkins; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
He was a victim of homicide.
