Raymond "Eddie" Edward Schneberger
CYRIL Funeral for Raymond "Eddie" Edward Schneberger, 81, Cyril, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Calvary Temple in Cyril with the Rev. Kip Ackley officiating.
Mr. Schneberger died Sunday, Aug. 1, 2010, in Cyril.
Burial will be in Celestial Gardens Cemetery, Cyril, under direction of McRay's Cyril Funeral Home.
Eddie was born Oct. 21, 1928, on a farm near Cyril, to Simon "Sam" Schneberger and Bertha Barbara Huber Schneberger. Eddie graduated from Cyril High School in 1948. He had a love of sports and was an outstanding baseball player. He played on a semi-pro baseball team for the Lawton Pepsis. In 1951, while he was in the Army, he married his high school sweetheart, Norma Jean Huddleston. He was stationed at Fort Jackson, S.C. He ended his military service while stationed in Germany, and returned to Cyril, where he worked at the Cyril Refinery for 35 years. After retirement, he enjoyed watching his grandkids play sports and being a part of their lives. He also enjoyed baking and sharing his pies, millionaires and peanut brittle with family and friends. Eddie was a member of the American Legion.
Survivors include his wife, Norma Schneberger, of Cyril; three daughters and two sons-in-law: Regina and Danny Smith, and Kathy Moore, all of Cyril; and Lisa and Mark McKee, of Oklahoma City; son and daughter-in-law, Don and Donna Schneberger, of Purcell; three sisters: Pauline Malone, of Midwest City; Juanita Jump, of Cyril; and Jo Cline, of Fletcher; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
Eddie was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Merle, Andrew and Floyd Schneberger; and sister, Helen Schneberger.
