MATTOON WOMAN'S SON DIES IN PARIS

Kansas, Ill., Feb. 14 - Edwin L. Ashby passed away at his home in Paris Monday. While he had been seriously ill only about a week he had been in failing health since he moved from this city to Paris, in December.

Mr. Ashby and famly were residents of Kansas about eight years, having moved here from Ashmore where they lived serveral years.

Mr. Ashby was born June 10, 1867 in Union Center, Cumberland county. He was united in marriage Mar 5 1899 to Violet Orndorff, who survives her husband.

Other surviving members of the family are four children, Walter, Virgil, Mabel and Olive. Mrs. B. C. Ashby, of Mattoon, mother of the deceased; two brothers, Phililip and Reve; and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Shaffer, of Mattoon, and Mrs. Lina Ellis. A granddaughter, Miss Louise Ashby, of Charleston, also survives.

The funeral service was held in this city wednesday afternoon at 1 o'clock in the Methodist church conducted by the Rev A. S. Chaplan of Paris.

Interment was made at Fairview cemetery.
