He graduated from Utah State University and shortly afterward was drafted into the army. He served a tour of duty during the Korean Conflict from 1951-1954. After Korea, he taught in Altamont, Roosevelt, and two army bases in France and Germany. He spent the remainder of his teaching career at Castro Valley, Calif. He was an excellent teacher and well loved by educators, students, and parents.
Dale traveled the world many times over, visiting many exotic places. His home was filled with lovely treasures acquired during those adventures. He had many interests which included music, reading, gardening, entertaining, and enjoying the arts.
People were drawn to Dale's warm and loving personality. He will be missed by devoted family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Pearl Cummings, his siblings, Geneil Cummings Jensen, Sharon Leone Cummings, and sister-in-law Adell Cummings, and close friends Keith Hicks and Mario Salguero. He is survived by his brother-in-law, Lionel Lee Jensen (Neola, Utah) and his sister-in-law, Elaine Cummings (Roosevelt, Utah). He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
The family wishes to thank special friends Bill and Irma Jones, Ivadell Newbery, Kirk Egan, and Kermit Long that extended so much loving care.
He will be interred at the Upalco Cemetery at a later time to be determined by his family.
