Samuel Gray, one of our oldest and best known citizens, passed away Sunday morning at the ripe old age of 83 years. Death due to infirmities of old age. The deceased was united in marriage to Miss Loah Harmon and went into housekeeping in the house where the deceased passed away. Five children were born to this union, three boys, Paul, lived on home place, Lewis at Quincy, Ransom at Detroit, Mich., Mrs. Bessie Hall at Sante Fe, New Mexico, and Nellie at home. All children living and present at funeral. Hence, this was first death in family in 57 years. Funeral held at the home Tuesday conducted by Rev. Frazier assisted by Rev. Beane of Allerton. Interment at Fairview cemetery.
