MILLARD HASSLER IS LAID TO REST

Funeral services for Millard Frank Hassler, native of Placerville, were held yesterday at Memory Chapel. The Rev. John Dunlop officiated.
Mr. Hassler, who before his illness was Transportation Manager for Pacific Gas and Electric Company, Chico, passed away Sunday evening in a Sacramento Hospital.
He was born April 16, 1894, the son of John E. Hassler, former Horticultural Commissioner for El Dorado County. On June 4, 1921 he married Miss Maude Marsh, daughter of the late County Recorder and Mrs. C. E. March, who survives him.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Hassler leaves seven brothers and sisters: John E. Hassler and J. R. Hassler of Placerville, Berhardt G. Hassler, Fresno, and Mrs. Claire Carr, Mrs. Florence Crumley, Mrs. Juanita Winkelman, Placerville, and Mrs. Alma Murphy, Medford, Oregon.
A member of Chico Post No. 17 American Legion, Mr. Hassler was a veteran of World War I and saw service overseas.
Other affiliations were El Dorado Lodge No 26, Masons; Scottish Rite, Sacramento and Chico Lodge No 423, B.P.O. Elks.
Burial was in Union Cemetery.
