Raymond L Evans, Sr., 64 of 4777 E Webb Road, Austintown, died of a heart ailment at 7:03 Tuesday at St Elizabeth Hospital Medical Center, where he had been a patient since Monday evening.
Mr Evans was born Sept 7, 1916, in Niles, a son of Edward and Mary Jones Evans. He had been employed at the General Motors Fisher Body Plant as a welder operator for 10 years. He was a member of the Four Miles Run Christian Church, where he had been a deacon. His firs wife, Edna Ludwick, died in 1974, and his second wife, Dorothy Harkleroad, whom he married in July 1979, died in May 1980.
He leaves two sons, Raymond L, Jr., of Los Angeles, and Paul of Alliance; at daughter, Mrs Judith Balenger of Girard; a step-daughter, Mrs Joyce Harkleroad of Austintown; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister Mrs Margaret Arnett, and two brothers Howard and Daniel.
Services will be held at 1:30 pm Thursday at the Lane Funeral Home, Austintown, where friends may call 7 to 9 today. 4-14-1981.
