Evelyn L. (Allen) Lakeman, 90, passed away August 19, 2004 at Nantucket Island. She was born in Guildhall, Vermont, February 1, 1914 the daughter of Wesley and Elvena (Currier) Allen.
Evelyn was a longtime resident of Newburgh and had worked for many years as a supervisor at Emple Knitting Mill.
She is survived by two daughters, Marjorie E. Avery of Nantucket Island, and Bertina L. Weymouth of Florida, ten grandchildren, six great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Herbert M. Lakeman in 1979 and by two daughters; Priscilla "Pat" Fergerson and Eleanor L. Backus, two sisters; Alice Ball and Pauline Tetu and by two brothers; Howard and William Allen.
A graveside service will be announced later in the fall at Arnold's Corner Cemetery, Newburgh.
