Grandfather

In 1918, as a sales representative for the National Tube Co. of Lorain Ohio, George was traveling home from Texas to Oklahoma, his home area to which he and his family had relocated from Lorain, Ohio.

The train that he was a passenger on was put on a side rail area in Kansas to quarantine the entire group of passengers from the train.

It was said that due to this one large holding area where all persons were held and exposed to those that were ill (all in the same hall) about 50% of the passengers died - even though they were not originally not ill.
