Blackville - A graveside funeral service for Ruby Joyce Abbott Owens, 70, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2010, at Barnwell Memory Gardens on Reynolds Road, with the Reverends Bob and Ken Frederick officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 2, at Folk Funeral Home in Williston. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that monetary donations be made to Folk Funeral Home to help with expenses. Ruby Joyce passed away Saturday, July 31, 2010. Born in Orangeburg County, she was a daughter of the late Jesse L. Abbott Sr. and Lizzie Bolin Abbott. She was a homemaker, having worked with her late husband Oscar Owens, at their family business, Oscar Owens Well Drilling. She was a member of Healing Springs Baptist Church. Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Meletta O. and Scott Kaigler, and Melody O. and Eddie Bonnette; grandchildren, Morgan Kaigler, Hayden Kaigler and Lizann Bonnette, all of Blackville; sisters, Rose Eva Willis, Mozelle Sheffield, Lois Barr and Louise Rollins; brother, Jesse Lee "Sonny Boy" Abbott Jr.; and a number of nieces and nephews. © The Times and Democrat, Orangeburg, SC, 2 Aug 2010
