Rites At Sedan For Frank Landwehr

Funeral services for Frank J. Landwehr, 97, Sedan, were held from the Immaculate Conception church of Sedan on Saturday, April 27, at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Francis Britz officiating at the funeral Mass.

Interment was in Sedan Catholic cemetery. Pallbearers were Clarence and Clemens Landwehr, Ozzie Stepan, Ben and Joe Terhaar and Russell Egan.

Frank John Landwehr was born in St. Augusta township, Stearns county, October 22, 1865, the son of Henry and Gertrude Landwehr. November 26, 1908, he was united in marriage to Mary Rooney. As a young man, Mr. Landwehr was a cabinet maker. Later he worked for a time in a logging camp. Around the turn of the century he ran the livery stable in Brooten. he spent the rest of his working years as a farmer and lived on a farm until hospitalized three weeks before his death. Mr. Landwehr died at the Glenwood Community hospital on Tuesday, April 23, from pneumonia and the infirmities of old age.

Survivors include his wife, Mary, one son, Gene, of Sedan; 13 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Agnes.
