With her parents and other sisters and brothers, she moved to Emerson over 75 years ago and always lived near or in Emerson.She was married on June 28th, 1883 to Marion L. Evans. To this union were born six children, one daughter, Mrs. Edith McArthur of Oakland, Iowa and sons, John L. and Kenneth A.,, of Emerson, Dr. Frank N. Evans of Springfield, Illinois, Marion L. and Volney L. deceased. She is survived by her husband and four children, twelve grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Mary Birdsdall of Emerson, Mrs. W. G. Alexander of Evanston, Illinois, and brothers, V. V. Tubbs of Santa Ana, California, and Dr. R. B. Tubbs of Emerson.
Mrs. Evans was a charter member of the local order of Eastern Star and faithful supporter of other organizations she was interested in although her chief interest centered around her family. The recent return of grandsons serving in the Armed Forces of their Country had brought her great happiness. She was always interested in the young people of the community who will remember her for many acts of kindness.
Services at the Emerson home in the presence of a large company of relatives and friends. An old friend of the family, the Reverend Frederick W. Long, D. D. officiated.
Interment was in the Emerson Cemetery.
