Edna Florence Reicks, 81, of Lawler, died Sunday, Aug. 23, at the Patty Elwood Center, Cresco.
She was born Nov. 13, 1933, on the family farm near Lawler, daughter of Louis and Elizabeth Balk Blong.
She married Ardwin Reicks on June 6, 1955, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, Lawler.
Edna graduated from Lawler High School in 1952, then worked as a telephone operator in Mason City. She returned to Lawler where she worked at the former State Bank of Lawler. She and her husband farmed north of Lawler. She also played the piano and organ at church, weddings and funerals.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 27, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, Lawler, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. today, Aug. 26, at the church, with a 4 p.m. rosary and a 7:30 p.m. parish Scripture service. Visitation also an hour before services.
