Lena Leazer Secrest

Lena May Leazer was the youngest of seven children born to the late Mose and Martha Boyer Leazer who were pioneers of Wayne Co., Iowa. She was born in Clinton Township November 1, 1884 and died July 31, 1975 at the Wallace Hospital in Lebanon, Missouri at the age of 90 years, 8 months and one day.

In 1909 Lena was united in marriage to Archie H. Secrest at Des Moines, Iowa where they lived for two years then moved to a farm south of Allerton where they lived until her husband's death.

To This union two children were born, a daughter Margie and a son Harold who died in infancy.

She is survived by her daughter Margie Kurtz, a granddaughter Phyllis May Huitt and her husband Richard Huitt and two great grand-children Jeffrey and Amber Huitt; several nieces, nephews and a host of frields. Lena gave her heart to Christ at an early age. Was a good and thoughtful mother, friend and neighbor. She loved and was loved by all who knew her.

Mrs. Secrest was preceded in death by her husband, both her parents, four sister, Lydia Gatrel, Vira Wolf, Alta Cupp and Effie Gleason; two brothers, one who died in infancy and Edward Leazer.

Lena will be greatly missed by her family and who knew her. May God be with her.
