"Helen L. Wallace, 91, of the 5600 block of Francis Avenue died of a heart ailment Saturday at Mercy Medical Center Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at West Des Moines United Medodist Church of which she was a member. Burial will be at Glendale Cemetery.
Mrs. Wallace was born in Earlham and had lived in Rock Island, Ill, Decatur County and Council Bluffs before moving to Des Moines in 1953. She was a retired receptionist for Wallace Homestead Printing Co. and had worked as a receptionist for Calvin Manor. She was a volunteer at her church and an accomplished seamstress whose creations have been worn at several weddings and special events.
Several nieces and nephews survive. She was preceded in death by her husband, Forest.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at the church where the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to her church. Ochiltree Funeral Service and Aftercare in Winterset is handling arrangements."
