Ellen Engstrand, 82, was born in Franconia Township Dec 1, 1900, the third daughter of Mr. and Mrs. P. G. Johnson.
She died June 21, 1983 at St. Croix Falls Hospital after suffering a massive stroke on May 23.
She is survived by her husband Victor, son Darwin and daughter-in-law Carolyn of Bloomington; three grandsons, Daniel of Mpls, Bradley of Chicago and Jon at home, three sisters, Florence Rahney and Mildred Johnson of Lindstrom and Evangeline Olson of St. Paul, and many loving relatives and friends.
She and her husband would have celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary Sunday, June 26. Ellen was a lifelong member of Chisago Lake Lutheran Church.
She was a teacher in Warroad and area schools including Dist. 12, Furby and Boo schools.
Funeral services were held June 24 at Chisago Lake Lutheran Church with Rev Robert Knutson officiating. Interment was in the Hillside Cemetery.
