Hilma came to America from Sweden in 1903 where she worked for the Harry maloney family at Red Oak Iowa. (1903-1904). Hilma was a trained midwife and child-care provider. She was called to help Anton Hultquist care for his children after his wife died and in 1907 she married him. "Mrs. H Hultquist Visit to Sweden. Mrs. Hilma Hultquist, 75, of Paxton, who has not seen her native Sweden in 57 yeras, will be returning there for a month´s visit on June 3". (Tellegraph-Bulletin 1960).
