George Dougan, died on June 17, 2010 at the age of 77 at Sky Lakes Medical Center after a long batttle with cancer.

He was born in San Francisco.

He and Ruth Leal, his wife of 58 years, began their life together in the dairy business in Nicasio, Calif., where they also raised their six children. They moved to Santa Rosa, Calif., in 1976, and eded up on their dream ranch in Beatty, Oregon in 1987.

George is survived by his wife, Ruth, and their children and spouses, grandchildren and great grandchildren, Diane and Tom Gerstmann, grandchildren Jeff, Debbie, Doug and Jeanette; grandsons, Mikael, Ty and Mathew, Sarah and Joe Smith; grandchildren, Wyatt, Mattie and Josie; granddaughters, Amanda Dougan and Becky and her husband, Kevin Trenann; and great-grandchldren, Gracie, Kevin, Carlie and Vivienne.

George will be greatly missed by his brothers, Jim, Harold, Herb, Bill and Alec, his sister, Ethel Lucas and his many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Margaret, brothers, Robert and Jack, and sons, Mike and Greg.

George was an active member of the Beatty Valley Gospel Mission Church. He enjoyed singing in the choir and made the bell tower for the church.
