Dennis Hadden Willis, 84, of Martinsville, died Saturday, July 31, 2010, at Blue Ridge Rehab.
He was born in Henry County on Sept. 7, 1925, to William Hadden Willis and Hilda Gregory Willis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Vernon David Willis.
He served in the Navy from 1943 to 1946. He retired from Continental Can with 25 years of service as an accountant.
He was a lifelong member of Pleasant Grove Christian Church, where he served as Sunday school teacher, elder, treasurer and choir member and was honored as Elder Emeritus. He was a charter member of the Ruritan Club in Preston.
Surviving are his wife, Frances Hundley Willis of the home; a daughter, Linda Willis Harrison-Gardiner of Radford, a son, Jerry Willis of Salem; and four grandchildren.
His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Pleasant Grove Christian Church with Minister Eldon Morgan officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
