Karl J. Kleopfer, 94, of rural Fairview, died Thursday evening, January 23, 1986, at the Sabetha Community Hospital, where he had been admitted earlier in the day. He had been a resident at the Apostolic Christian Home in Sabetha for five years.
He was born in the Sabetha community, June 1, 1891, the son of Jacob and Dora Lukert Kleopfer and had farmed in the Fairview community all of his life until moving to the nursing home in 1981.
Mr. Kleopfer was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Fairview.
He was married to Ella Fortmeyer, April 11, 1920, at Topeka. She died August 31, 1981.
He is survived by two sons, Reverend Leland Kleopfer of York, Neb., and Robert Kleopfer of rural Fairview; a daughter, Mrs. Walter (Mary Ella) Hofmeister of Oxnard, Calif.; a brother, Will Kleopfer of Fairview; seven grandchildren and one great-grandson, Matthew Kleopfer of Fairview.
Funeral services are planned for 2 p.m. Monday, January 27, from St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Fairview, with The Rev. Glenn E. Wootton officiating. Interment will be at the Isley Cemetery, north of Fairview.
