Elijah A. Alderson, a resident of Joplin 22 years, died at 6:30 o'clock yesterday at his home, 2902 West Fourth Street. He was 61 years old and had been ill nine months. Mr. Alderson was born March 9, 1880, at Eureka Springs, AR. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Stella Alderson, Charles Alderson, 303 Oak Avenue; three daughters, Mrs. James Lewis, 230 Oak Avenue, Mrs. Vernon Owen, 1617 Indiana Avenue, and Mrs. Boyd Bray, at home and two sisters, Mrs. Ethel Baker of Los Angeles, CA and Mrs. Mary Bailey, Twenty-fourth Street and Adele Avenue. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon at the Assembly of God Church in Chitwood. The Rev. T.S. Ferris will officiate and burial will be in Forest Park cemetery under direction of the Hurlbut Undertaking Co. The body will lie in state at the son's home until near the funeral hour.
