She married 3 times, and it seems that the last name should be "Cole" on her headstone, but this is not the case for whatever reason; perhaps because all her children were by her first husband, Adelbert George Caswell.

Ella married 1) George Adelbert "George" Caswell on 6/30/1867. She was 16 years old; he was 27 years old. He died in 1876 at age of about 36.

Ella married 2) Loyal W. Lovejoy on 2/22/1881; divorced. No children. She was 29 years of age, he was 44 years old.

Ella married 3) Frank H. Cole on 8/3/1898. No children by this marriage. She was 46 years of age, he was 42 years old. No children, except as an aunt and step-mother of Ella May Cole [Banker].

Ella Diett had taken over the care and mothering of Ella May, her sister [Adeline (Warner) Ellison and Cole]'s infant daughter by Frank H. Cole after Adeline died. The baby, Ella May, was just two weeks of age when her mother, Adeline, died. Adeline was 44 years of age at death.
