Edgar W. Shannon was the eldest son of Florence Bryan and Jeremiah C Shannon, born 23 Aug 1872 in Springfield WV. He was fatherless by the age of 4 years old. Edgar married Louise Roberts in Springfield 7 Aug 1893. They were the parents of 12 children, moving to Frostburg MD where Edgar worked for the railroad. He died of TB 3 Nov 1942 and is buried in the family plot at Frostburg Memorial Cemetery.
