Mr. Barnes, who was born in Muncie, attended Muncie schools and graduated from Muncie Central High School. He was in the Army during World War II and was a carrier and supervisor at the Muncie Post Office before he retired. He moved to Florida from Muncie in 1986. He was a member of Postal Carriers Sympathy Club, National Association of Letter Carriers and National Association of Federal Employees.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John W. and Jenny Rossbottom Barnes.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Meeks Mortuary Chapel. Burial will be in Beech Grove Cemetery. Calling will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday and before 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary.
