Thomas "Tom" L. Samples, age 81, of Creal Springs, passed away at 8:30 am on Saturday, July 17, 2010 at Carrier Mills Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Thomas was born in Williamson County on September 2, 1928, the son of Thomas and Hattie (Castleman) Samples. He married Deborah Diane Lamunion in Paducah, Kentucky on November 17, 1978. She survives in Creal Springs.

Mr. Samples was a member of the Scottsboro Church of God. He was a retired self-employed mechanic.


He was preceded in death by his Parents, Son- Michael Samples, Six Brothers – John, Charles, Joe, Ed, Sam and Bobby Samples and Sister – Lucille Johnson.

Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M.on Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion, with Rev. Mike Garrett officiating. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Marion. Visitation will be held from 9 A.M. until the time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
